Social Media Coordinator

Reported to be one of the South Coast’s most exciting up and coming entertainment and alternative website, The Electronic Farmyard is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to manage web department needs and social media initiatives. The ideal candidate has a passion for emerging trends in social media and technology (mobile apps, online communities, etc.). The coordinator will support a vast digital network across Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, StumbleUpon, N4G and more. This role is for someone who lives and breathes social media and is excited to play a key role in marketing our future.

As the Social Media Coordinator you will report to the PR Manager and will be responsible for engaging with our audience across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube ensuring all comments, suggestions, concerns or general feedback is responded to and feed back up to the PR Manager and/or Editor-in-Chief as appropriate. You will also be responsible for submitting articles to the above 3 sites as well as the likes of Reddit, StumbleUpon, Digg, N4G, FilmFest etc. whilst always maintaining a level of professionalism and adhering to the individual sites rules and regulations. You will be required to provide monthly reports based on the effectiveness of all social media channels used and you should be able to construct your own initiatives and ideas in ways to leverage social media to enable us to grow the site.

The position is completely voluntary, however this will be the opportunity to prove yourself by building the name and reputation, (along with your own), of an exciting emerging venture.

Key Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of the social media/pop culture landscape.
  • Excellent writing, research and reporting skills; some technical skills a plus.
  • Ability to engage fans and influence digital strategy.
  • Self-starter/multi-tasker, creative, and organized.
