Eurogamer Podcast is Number 1 on iTunes

Eurogamer.net Transmits UK’s Most Popular Gaming Podcast – Again

Eurogamer.net, the world’s leading independent videogaming website, today revealed that its podcast has hit number one in the iTunes Games & Hobbies UK chart twice since its relaunch last Tuesday.

The Eurogamer.net Podcast also climbed to number fourteen in the all-podcast chart, nestling behind Jonathan Ross but several places ahead of Radio 1′s Chris Moyles.

Published every Tuesday at 3pm GMT, the Eurogamer.net Podcast features Eurogamer.net Editor Tom Bramwell and conversation moderator Tom Champion, along with a series of special guest stars from the videogaming industry elite.

Covering hot trade topics and issues from their own and other popular videogame forums, in addition to the increasingly popular ‘what we’ve been playing’ discussion, the chart-topping transmission and the gaming giveaways are clearly a hit with listeners.

“A podcast was one of the most-requested features from our readers last year, so we’re delighted to launch it so early in 2010,” said Editor, Tom Bramwell. “The feedback has been great so far and we will continue to adapt to match our readers’ hopes and dreams.”

While the first two pilot shows have featured Eurogamer.net staff exclusively, numerous ‘industry heavyweights’ from the recently relaunched GamesIndustry.biz trade network are also set to appear on the programme.

The Eurogamer.net Podcast also offers the site’s fans a unique insight into the way it is made and an opportunity to peer behind the curtain. In the second episode, Bramwell discusses working on his Mass Effect 2 review and his inability to defend in FIFA 10, while newshound Robert Purchese muses over developer reaction to recent headlines about Wii third-party support, while Publisher Cat Channon makes some shocking Star Wars revelations.

The Eurogamer.net Podcast is available to stream or download on the site, and listeners can also subscribe on iTunes.
