After its November 15 release Amazon‘s new Kindle Fire tablet likely will be the first mainstream competitor to the Apple iPad. But Amazon is taking the opposite approach in designing and marketing the product from their Cupertino rival.

Besides the obvious differences of size and price, notice the different angles Amazon and Apple take when promoting the features of their respective tablets. Here’s the most recent television commercial for the iPad:

For Apple, what’s special about the iPad is tied up in its apps. In the space of 30 seconds, they showcase eight different apps used for a variety of purposes. Most of the depicted apps were built by third-party developers and may not appeal to more than a fraction of iPad owners. Not everyone wants to practice calligraphy, play the piano, or learn about the human skeleton. But that’s fine – there are over 100,000 different apps.

The company’s own iBooks app makes an appearance, but only to showcase the dictionary feature of the app itself. Apple doesn’t even mention its e-book library or iTunes store for content. Content exists within, and is subservient to, the app. You can see the same theme present in another ad from earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Amazon hasn’t run any television ads for the Kindle Fire yet. But they have released a promotional video:

“Enjoying your content should be simple and easy. One touch gives you instant access to Amazon’s massive content library, including over 18 million movies, TV shows, songs, apps, magazines, and books.”

Did you catch the difference? Amazon portrays apps as ‘content’ equivalent to other downloadable entertainment. And if you look closely, the video shows off a tablet interface in which ‘Apps’ is just another tab side-by-side with ‘Newsstand’, ‘Books’, ‘Music’, ‘Video’, ‘Docs’, and ‘Web’. Compared to Apple’s approach, in which all other content is bought, viewed, and manipulated within apps themselves, this is a somewhat radical departure.

And it’s a re-thinking of the device that might actually work. The horde of Android manufacturers aren’t making headway against the iPad with similar designs and app stores that can’t compare in breadth of choice. By differentiating the Kindle Fire away from its relative weakness in apps, and toward its strength selling videos, music, and books, Amazon might be able to stake out its own sizable chunk of the tablet market.

Coming out soon is the social media music company Boinc which is currently in its beta stage.

Watching this I’m left wondering what will happen more to the culture and progression of music as a whole. By this I mean in regards to the fringe elements of music as, (like it or not), this is where a lot of the innovation comes from otherwise we’re left with an industry that could potentially become stale as a whole. I realise this might be a fairly clichéd line of discourse to take for many now, (‘whatever happened to the old fashioned vinyl stores’ yada, yada), and I recognise what’s being said in that music needs to generate a stream of revenue in order to continue. But, I just feel we could still be potentially shooting ourselves in the foot creatively by in effect homogenising our listening habits, (I heard the term ‘Zynga for music’ a while back and it shuddered me to the very core).

As I say, I’m not naïve enough to think that the music industry hasn’t changed and that we do need some way of subsidising it I just think some consideration is required as to where technology is taking us and how we can evolve into it.

Either way I’ll definitely be interested to see what comes about from these guys.

Check them out for yourselves here.

Ok, so from the start I’m going to come right out and say it….

I.don’t.like.Apple.

There I said it.

It’s not that im a Windows fanboy, or that I’m on the proverbial ‘side’ of Microsoft, I just disagree with a lot of Apple’s ideas and the way they’re implemented. As much as I may not want to, I happen to think that the build quality of Apple products are superb. From the iPod, the Mac and even, dare I say it, the iPhone (my favourite being the 3GS, its like something out of Star trek, or Star wars) all products developed by Apple look and feel great in the hand/on the desk/in your ear.

So what’s my issue with Apple? For me, personally, as a lover of gadgets and gizmos, Apples view on software is frustrating. If Apple or an approved Apple affiliate didn’t build the program, then more often than not it wont work on an Apple product. It’s a closed environment and for me that’s too restrictive. I don’t want to be told what programs I can and can’t use on my computer. I want to be able to download a piece of freeware that an awesome developer has taken the time and effort to build if it suits my needs or does what I want better than what Apple have built. Apple prevents brilliant developers from developing brilliant things if they aren’t on the payroll or the app store authorities are having a bad day.

Now whilst I will admit that Apple’s software works pretty much 99% of the time, it’s not for me and that’s ok. My main concern is the impact this attitude is having on the market place, primarily when it comes to mobile phone technology.

The iPhone is without a shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest creations in the last decade. It has jump started an already aggressively progressive industry into an even higher gear and that’s great. The better a companies last product, the more impressive the next one has to be from a rival in order to outsell it. The issue is when manufacturers start being imitative, rather than innovative. Ok so it worked for Apple, doesn’t mean it has to work for someone else.

Take Windows Phone 7. I got a Samsung Omnia 7 on release day here in the UK and I love it. However, just like Apple, there was no copy and paste from launch, no multi-tasking, half of the programs that were supposed to work were in development, and were rolled out in patches. In addition, carriers were slow and somewhat unsupportive of the NoDo update, not Microsoft’s fault, but certainly something that shouldnt have happened. And this is almost the same template as Apple followed with the iPhone except somewhat accelerated, (Apple also decided to release multiple iterations of the iPhone with these updates which is a tad cheeky)

The iPhone does not allow you to bluetooth to another device (unless it’s another Apple phone and even that depends on file type), the iPhone didn’t have multi tasking. You have to use iTunes in order to sync music and media and even apps (in some cases) to ensure your phone is up to date. Nearly all of Microsoft’s previous iterations of PDA’s and mobile phones came with copy and paste, multitasking, windows explorer, full bluetooth functionality and even Windows media player. My HTC Touch HD runs Windows 6.5 and can run 8-9 programs in the background at once, has an excellent task manager, can bluetooth to computers and other phones that also have full bluetooth functionality and it had an awesome developer environment to boot! You used to able to use a myriad of programs to get the best from your phone, or customise it exactly to your taste, but now, the freedom to mess with the base code, the firmware and programs is a shadow of its former self. You must use Zune to sync music and videos to your phone. I’ll give it to Microsoft, it’s far superior to that of iTunes, but it is still restrictive in that you have to use what Microsoft tell you, the only apps that are available are ones that Microsoft have ratified first. I’m aware that Microsoft have done some great work bringing in external developers that were previously ‘hacking’ previous iterations of Windows Mobile and it’s that mentality that tells me that I made the right decision in Windows Phone 7.

Maybe im just used to being able to tamper with my gadgets to get them to work for me, rather than the other way round. I understand that the way that Apple and Microsoft are doing things, will allow systems to be faster, smoother and have a lot less issues. It just doesn’t sit well with me because I’m enslaved to using what I’m told, and having used a PC all my life, it’s just not something I’m particularly happy with. But to this day, I dont regret my Windows Phone 7 and since the mango update its a whole new phone. I just hope that Microsoft doesn’t follow in Apples footsteps too closely.

What can I say except my name is Lee Burchell and I’m a PC.

iPad users finally have a photoshopping application that materializes ideas and concepts into stylish images with the power of cutouts and stylized image compositing.

Reallusion, the award-winning leader of 3D and 2D Cinematic tools, have now treaded into the iPad market with Visualize; a brand-new visual application that combines the power of free-hand cutouts, visual templates and layered compositing.

Visualize is the on-the-go photoshopping application that creates instant PNG cutouts by importing and editing images directly from the iPad camera or the internet. Cutouts may then be saved in the onboard gallery folders, to expand the current collection, or be retouched for further layering and compositing.

It is now so simple to customize and composite images thanks in part to a wide range of stationeries, symbols, icons and arrows, found in over 7 item categories. Users are free to manually rotate, scale and transform their images or they may use the embedded slider controls for pixel-accurate positioning. The same can be done for changing colour settings, and adjusting edge properties with special effects such as feathering, shadowing, or white edging.

Now users are able to import snapshots, and clippings, directly from online websites with the use of a rectangular cropping tool. Images can also be manually cutout with just a flick of the finger, thanks to the intuitive lasso tool which allows for immediate cropping of irregular shaped objects. Text can be added by simply typing and later adjusting the background and font settings. The free-hand drawing tool may also be used to add text with different brush stokes – each with its own brush styles and own color settings. Users may further customize their projects by dropping in background images with added spotlight, and colour effects to enhance the look of their projects.

Multiple images may later be composited into layers by sorting, linking and locking them to create artistic posters, visual reminders or on-the-go meeting minutes. When ready, users may export their projects to Facebook, Picasa, Dropbox or send them as a email attachment to colleagues.

Visualize literally opens the iPad to a vast cosmos of images that are freely available on the internet. Now everyone can import images, create cutouts and composite their ideas to create great looking presentations, stylish concepts and more; all in the palm of their hands.

To learn more about Visualize, simply search for it in your iTunes Stores to download the latest trial http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/visualize-free/id456857776?ls=1&mt=8 or visit Reallusion to get more information: http://iphone.reallusion.com/

You have probably seen the advert for the Motorola Atrix and the big claims it is the ‘World’s most powerful smartphone’, we certainly had and of course the first thing we wanted to do was put that claim to the test.

The Atrix is a dual-core Android phone running 2.2 (Froyo). Some of the key features include an extra-long life battery, aGPS with Google Maps, a 5 megapixel camera with HD video recording, every kind of connectivity including Wi-Fi and DLNA, 16GB of on-board memory and even a fingerprint scanner. An optional docking station turns the phone into a powerful laptop (who needs the Xoom?), or you can purchase the HD Multimedia Dock and combine it with the Wireless mouse and keyboard to turn your 40inch LCD TV at home into an office.

With prices hovering around the £400 mark, the Atrix needed to bring a lot to the table to justify the cost. It gives us a lot to play with and think about, but seems to leave us feeling a little cheated. For starters it comes with Froyo 2.2. This I don’t get especially as 2.3 (Gingerbread) has been around for 8 months or so now. Reskinning Android is a pet hate of ours, but the Moto Blur UI isn’t actually that bad. It does what it says on the tin and helps you keep up-to-date on your social networks with a ‘Latest News’ feed, amongst other useful tweaks Blur includes. The thing I like about Moto Blur is that it isn’t as intrusive or extensive as the HTC Sense UI. And as with any Android phone you can customise most things in any case. Motorola have promised an update to Gingerbread later in 2011 – probably just as other phones upgrade from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich.

Physically, the Atrix is more plastic than metal and although the back case feels flimsy and delicate, the overall feel off the device is quite sturdy. Weighing in at 135g it is only slightly heavier than the BlackBerry Bold 9900(130g) but much lighter than the newly announced HTC Titan on Windows Phone 7 which weighs in at 160g. Smaller than the Galaxy S2, but hardly petite, the Atrix is a very good size. The display isn’t as big as the 4.3 inches on offer from Samsung and HTC, but at 4.0 inches it’s not small by any means. The resolution is very high too with 540 x 960 pixels and the screen also packs punches in terms of its Gorilla Glass display, touch sensitive controls and the other usual offerings of accelerometer and proximity sensors.

There is one feature that I am still confused as to whether it is a gimmick or a stroke of genius and the sign of things to come. I’m talking about the biometric fingerprint reader you can enable to lock your phone. Motorola claim it’s more secure than a password?

The Atrix is supposed to be fast, after all the advert claims it is the most powerful in the world, the ugly truth is however that even with a Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with Tegra 2 chipset; it does seem to struggle under pressure. Luckily it does have 1GB of RAM up its sleeve to call upon to help it out. But all said and done it is just not as quick as we would have liked or expected.

Some other noteworthy features are the 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash and image stabilization which can takes great shots and can record video in HD 720p format. The dual-core processor shows its power here, with near-instantaneous image capture and judder-free video capture.GPS works very well indeed, with full support for all the Google mapping tools including Street View.

Connectivity is on par with other high end smartphones, with Wi-Fi (support for a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1, USB, a 3.5mm audio jack and even a DLNA connection. The amount of memory available can’t be faulted either, there is a generous 16GB onboard and the option to add microSD cards up to 32GB. The battery is a 1930 mAh Li-Ion cell, a rarity as most smartphones use 1500 mAh. The difference in battery life is quite apparent and I was able to use the phone for 7 hours heavy usage and then 12 hours standby before needing a recharge. Normally after 7 hours of heavy testing most Android devices are already begging for more juice.

Conclusion:
Although not the most powerful smartphone I have tested and reviewed, it isn’t too far behind the competition. Moto Blur isn’t as bad HTC Sense and the device does come with some great, albeit expensive accessories.

Meteor
In Soviet Russia, Meteor controls you!

I don’t get the tag line either, but let’s get going with it!

Ever been sat at home, your media server is hooked up to your 50″ HD TV and you can’t find the remote? I’m sure it’s happened to us all at one point or another.

As a Windows Phone 7 user I like to make the most out of the 100′s of £££ I paid for the phone, so I have every app under the sun, one of which has taken my attention quite recently. Meteor for Windows Media Center. The easiest way to explain what it does is this.

Meteor connects to your Windows Media Center client via its windows based server application, it grabs all your films, the DVD covers and meta data, (if you have it), and shows it nicely on your phone for you to peruse and pick from.

The app itself is split into three sections.

Now Playing – From here you can easily manipulate what is currently playing, whether it’s a song or a movie.

Recent – This area shows your recently played items.

Library – Here is where all the fun happens. Meteor gathers all your library data and shows it here, with sub sections of music, movies and TV shows.

Now the app has only just come out of beta, and its windows service has very limited functionality, personally I’d like to see it with media library settings within the Meteor interface. Maybe in future it will.

Now for some eye candy, below you can see the now playing section of the app, where the data is streamed to the phone to show realtime playback info. Check out the videos below to see it in action.

* Images provided by blog.landdolphin.net

“A short tour around the hub of the Meteor Windows Phone 7 application.
The video gives a short demo of the integrated experience this Windows Media Center remote control application provides, including some gestures, how media is controlled and transitions between audio and video tracks.
This is still a work in progress using placeholder controls, so keep that in mind.”

So if you are the guy with the 50″ TV, I’m sure you’ll have some professional solution for your home media entertainment. If you’re not, here is the next best thing, a media guide in your pocket. The app itself is free, but with header and footer adverts. The paid version removes these adverts but doesn’t unlock any additional features.

Check out their website - http://landdolphin.net/meteor/

And if you have Zune, check out the app – Zune Marketplace

Keep your eye out for next week’s WP7 App Review

Recently Spotify announced up-coming changes to its free and open subscriptions, reducing the amount of free streaming allowed through its platform. This news has led to people changing who they use for their free music streaming. I myself have considered changing my provider but for now will stay with the free service until it becomes restricted. Our sources have said Spotify will release a 1 month free trial of their premium service, which i myself will be testing to see if its worth the investment.

At Electronic Farmyard we have decided to give a few options for you to try out.

we7 – Our first option for you to try it we7. This service offers in browser listening of 000′s of tracks and albums. So your thinking, ‘well obviously, thats what im wanting to hear from you’, so what else do they offer. Well personally i don’t think a lot, they have recently released an option to stream through android and have social integration links such as facebook, msn, myspace ect. Other similarities to spotify include playlists, bookmarking (starring) and sharing music with friends.

I feel the downside to the website is the amount of adverts they have dotted about the place, at any one time there are about 4 image adverts on the site linking to various products. But after all, it is free music. Their premium options are £4.99 for no adverts listening and premium content. Their Premium+ subscription allows offline listening of tracks.

Overall i would rate this service 3.5/5

Check it out at www.we7.com

MFlow – Remember when you signed up to Twitter after using Facebook for so long, you were like ‘so, it’s just status updates? where’s farmville?’. MFlow’s kinda like that, no ads, no interruptions (well, when you sign up/in there isn’t). You can search by artist, album or track. See what your friends are listening to, tag songs, follow tags. It is very much a twitter of the audio streaming world. And it is truly free, you can purchase tracks from around £0.79; which is the general price these days.

Whats nice is it takes on a Last.FM approach of music, suggesting tracks, allowing you to have random suggestions. Also, if you and a friend join (referals) you both get £1.00 credit for FREE!

Personally for features it doesn’t suit me, id rather use Last.FM which has more songs and an ever-increasing user base. I’m going to give it a 3/5

Check it out at www.mflow.com

Grooveshark – Argh I don’t like this one at all, but it did come up off the top of my head when planning this article. Grooveshark is a music streaming service, providing adverts between tracks. But here’s the catch, the users upload the music. I can see a copyright notice being served to them at some point. And in fact it has already by several music services and authorities.

When i have used it, i’ve always found tracks i like, generally UK top 40 stuff and the odd album i like. I find the user interface to be quite slow when compared to other services and applications.

Overall i would give GrooveShark a 2/5 but feel free to try it, you may find your experiences different.

Check it out at www.grooveshark.com

Youtube Disco – Now for those who like to watch their favourite artists music videos while they listen, or if you are just a YT junkie then this feature they have released is great. YouTube offer a playlist feature, so you can add videos to a playlist, and when one finishes it moves onto the next.

YouTube Disco takes the artist you want and grabs their music videos, trying it’s best not to duplicate tracks (not all tracks are provided by the same user/record label). Then you have a great one artist playlist with music videos to enjoy

As a music streaming service I wouldn’t give it such a good rating, a lot of the tracks i tried had been removed or weren’t available in the UK. But as a YT feature i think its 5/5 . But in this situation I will give it 2/5

Give it a try at www.youtube.com/disco

Well there you have it, it’s not all of them, im sure i have missed one or two out but have a gander and let us know what you think

Dropbox is to announce 25 million users Today! With an amazing figure of 200 million files per day going through dropbox! Dropbox allows users to share and sync files between users and multiple PC’s (including mac ). Its free service offers a hefty 2GB allowance, which is plenty for the basic user.

Now you may be thinking, 25 million, so what. But if you compare it to late february 2010 when they had 4 million users, an increase of 21 million in just over 12 months is, well, out standing.

Dropbox itself is an innovation, with its great use of bandwith and storage. Only unique files are uploaded, if say user 1224 uploads unique_song1.mp3 and user 6574 uploads the same file on their end, dropbox wont re-upload, it will simply use the current file uploaded. Now the process can’t be explained in a simple paragraph as this, but that’s the jist of it.

Personally i love Dropbox, i could promote it all day (as long as i get free space, i’m upto 8GB woo!). I use multiple computers, working on multiple projects, sharing films, music, images and documents throughout everything i use. Most recently my Windows Phone.

With its funding of $7.2 million from several investors i cant wait to see where Dropbox will go. Check out our low down on Dropbox from earlier last year.

Since the 29th March the Lizamoon attack has infected over 28,000 websites (this value has now increased by many times). Security firm Websense has been tracking the attack since it started. “Websense dubbed it the Lizamoon attack because that was the name of the first domain to which victims were re-directed. The fake software is called the Windows Stability Center.”

The attack was carried out using SQL injection where correctly formatted text is ‘injected’ into a database, forming a query which is the executed by the SQL host. In this case an advert/link to the malicious website was shown on the affected websites.

“Security experts say it is the most successful SQL injection attack ever seen. Currently the re-directs are not working because the sites peddling the bogus software have been shut down.”

The malicious advert advises you that your PC has been infected and suggests you download the bogus ‘Windows Stability Center’. It then runs and shows that you are infected and recommends you pay for the full version. Which obviously does nothing.

Some people may be thinking why? The only reason is money. This is a million £/$ market where attacks such as this can bring is 000′s of £/$ at a time.

If you have downloaded and installed this application, then it is recommended that you uninstall it and do a full scan with a legitimate anti virus application. Be sure your definitions are up to date.

The beginning of 2010 i wrote an article on a little app called RocketDock, which was preceded by another about the Docklets you can get for it. Almost a year on and im still using RocketDock for quick navigation on my Windows 7 laptop.

Heres how it currently looks.

Now all you might see if a bunch of icons. These are my most used shotcuts that were on my desktop. My desktop is now clutter free and allows me to marvel at my ever changing wallpaper. Mostly of my girlfriend i might add .

If you’ve seen this article, or my previous ones and been to RocketDock’s website, then you may just think, surely i can use desktop shortcuts and Windows sidebar widgets? Ofcourse you can! But personally i find their widgets rubbish and badly designed to match the ‘Windows theme’ and ofcourse, your desktop ends up looking like this.

With RocketDock you have everything sat on one side of your screen, i find top is best unless you like removing your taskbar (there are start menu docklets available)

By now your surely thinking, he’s just here to plug this so called amazing application. So yeah, i do like it. It does have its issues though, before the last release i think i BSOD about 15 times (anger!) and alot of the themes i tried using caused errors. The latest release is the most stable and as of yet i havent heard of any plans to release a new version, but its surely on the developers list – http://punklabs.com/whats-coming-in-2011.

So where can i get RocketDock?

It can be downloaded from the publishers website @ http://rocketdock.com. Downloads include the main application, skins , icon sets and widgets. There is also a set of how to guide for you developers wishing to customise and create Docklets for you to share with the world.

We love a cool new gadget here down on the Farmyard. Especially ones that can help us with the cows…

Which this isn’t. Instead what we have here is a all in one media gateway, and it looks impressive. Boasting a full HD 1080p-24 Network solution, the SlimBox, once connected to your television, allows you to enjoy a whole range of video, music and photographs in a wide range of different formats.

What is great about this little device is also the UPnP connectivity allowing effortless access to PC or NAS storage units. You can use the SlimBox as a all-in-one home entertainment system/portal. You can, once connected to the internet, access web-radio, Picasa and Flicker from the device and browse them on your living room TV. The SlimBox also has 2 USB ports for connecting external media drives and a SD/MMC card reader.

The best thing about all this? The Electronic Farmyard is going to be reviewing this little beauty especially for you. So keep your eyes peeled for updates soon!

So, whats this app all about. The quote above from their website pretty much says it all, but what can it actually do?

Version 2.0 has the ability to;

Control your mouse: Your phone will act as mouse. You can move cursor and click from your phone. I personally havent found a good use for this yet, i use my laptop with an attached extra monitor but havent found a need, maybe i will one day

Control your Keyboard: Your phone will act as keyboard. You can type from your phone. This i love, especially when searchign for music in itunes

Adjust Volume: You can control PC volume from your phone. This feature is great if your lazy You can control the full volume of the system.

Audio and Video Player: You can control songs and videos running on multimedia softwares like Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc. I also found this works in several other players, still with its little bugs however (play doesnt yet work in spotify), but we have been informed it will be working in the next version.

Windows Media Center: You can control Windows Media Center from your phone. Now if your rich and have a 60″ television with your PC connected, and you do use Windows Media Center. Then this feature is what you need. WHy look around for the remote, or buy one infact for Windows Media Center, when you can use this little FREE tool!

Power Controls:You can shutdown, restart, sleep, hibernate, logoff PC from your phone.

“The next version of app (2.1) will add the following two major features apart from bug fixes. We have already completed implementation of this version and we are doing its testing.

PowerPoint: Allow user to control presentation using phone
Extend Media Apps: Add support for different media players – Netflix, Hulu, iTunes, VLC, Spotify, etc.

There is lot of scope in this app and we are looking for more ideas to improve this app. We can do anything remotely from phone which user can do at PC.”

This looks like the Remote PC app has lots of potential. I asked if it was on the cards to develop for blackberry or Xbox Kinect but at this time they arent, sorry BB fans.

So how did the developers come up with the idea?

“The idea came from our own need. I use windows media center regularly and with the hardware remote it is hard to type text etc and you have it find a remote while you always have your phone. For Ankur, he had his TV attached to computer and he needed mouse, keyboard in his remote and we ended up with this app. Now our aim to drive the development based on user needs.” - Soumya

How did you find the Windows application submission process?

“Windows phone app submission takes about 5 business days to publish the app. They are communicative and provide support needed. We like the testing results of the process. I wish that there process of approval of app took less than 5 business days. It would help when we need to publish a quick update.”

Overall i rate this app very highly, its increasing potential gives it alot of room for development. Id love to see what else they can come up with.Visit their website http://pcremoteserver.com/

Spotify announced today that it has reached 1 million paid subscribers. That is either premium or unlimited users. Spotify has been a big player over the past few years in the music streaming business.

Surely this isnt spotifys highest milestone, I am sure even more is to come from this great service!

“It seems like only yesterday we were hatching ideas for a new music service in a tiny office-cum-apartment with a broken coffee machine, and the party we threw having reached one million users almost two years ago today was one to remember.

So it’s with a sense of real pride and excitement that we can announce a new milestone today, having welcomed our millionth paying subscriber to the service. It’s a testament to our fantastic users who continue to support us and spread the Spotify word, either by telling friends or sharing some of the 200 million playlists that you’ve put together so far.

From everyone at Spotify, we’d like to give you all massive thanks. We’ll continue to focus on providing you with the best music service possible, and look forward to adding even more cool new features over the coming months. What’s really exciting is that this is only the beginning.
Thanks for listening!”

“TwileShare is a free service that allows you to share files on Twitter. Upload and share anything from images, documents, PDFs, ebooks and more. Easy peasy.” – twileshare.com

There right, it is easy peasy. Just think, your on your phone, laptop, and you wanna show everyone something, a photo, a song, even a word document. Currently its JPG, GIF, PNG, PDF, Word and Excel files as long as they are no bigger than 20MB. But as its only in beta im sure it will change.

This is one of the many new ways to use twitter. Its hard to do what you want in 140 characters, TwileShare; and many others, are changing this, bending the rules

Its a 3 step process

1) Login! – Now TwileShare is still in beta so you may have to register your interest.

2) Upload – Pick a file and go!

3) Share – Done and Done

You may be thinking, why a i reviewing this? theres plents of file sharing websites which i can use. TwileShare had over 20,000 visits, rave reviews and 24,000 search results on Google – all in an incredibly short space of time. Social media has allowed websites such as TwileShare to go viral over night.

File sharing is something people will always do, combining it with a popular social communication tool and you have a recepie for success.

But brad its invite only – Head over to TwileShare’s blog (http://blog.twileshare.com), they often relese invite codes!
