Today we have something a bit more laid-back, (as we need some more chilled out pop for the Summer), with St. Lucia and the video of their song ‘Before The Dive’. It’s to be released on the 14^th of this month so check it out here and see what you reckon first:

With a video filled with interesting imagery this is definitely a band to watch. They will be playing The Great Escape Festival this weekend.

Today we have some some ‘soaring rock’ music for you, (it is the weekend approaching after all), with ‘The Chapman Family’ and the video of their song ‘No More Tears’. It’s off their forthcoming ‘Cruel Britannia’ EP which is being released on the 18^th of June through Best Before Records:

Filmed in Manchester’s Hulme Hippodrome this is a pretty moody, (and a little bit angry), offering from the Yorkshire based group. Make sure you catch the EP when it comes out though.

Today up on the roost we’ve got a music video short film for you with Alan Wilkis, (featuring Lyrics Born and White Hinterland), and his song ‘Shadow’. It’s the second instalment of singles from a series of them called ‘Prints’. Check it out and see what you think here though:

A creepy little short featuring a stalker it drew us in to its engrossing little narrative and hopefully there’s more to come from this particular director.

Farmyard Wake-Up Roost – Cass McCombs

A while ago now ‘whistle-blower’ Bradley Manning was arrested after leaking files to Wiki-leaks. A while later Cass McCombs wrote a song about it which we have for you today; ‘Bradley Manning’ which is his protest song on the situation. Check it out and see what you think of it here:

In a story-telling style that’s reminscent of Bob Dylans ‘Hurricane’, (the man the authorities came to blame…), it’s definitely an interesting song. Make sure you catch his album.

Okay, as we’re sure you have all heard by now Adam Yauch aka MCA just recently passed away. So, in our tribute to the legendary Beastie Boys rapper we have the classic ‘Sabotage’ for your Saturday morning roost which was originally off their fourth album ‘Ill Communication’, (but you probably knew that anyway). Anyway, in their own words ‘check it out’:

Being the sound-track to our youth it’s sad to see him go as he’ll be sorely missed. Thanks for the kick-ass music and rest-in-peace.

Today ready for the weekend we’re heading back to the wild, wild west, (and no, that’s not the crap Will Smith film), with ‘Tom Williams and The Boat’ and the video of their song ‘Teenage Blood’. It’s the title track of their recently released album of the same name so check it out here and see what you reckon:

An imaginative video, (or is that a video about imagination?), this is a pretty nifty little song home-grown from the Tunbridge Wells, Kent based group.

As hip-hop versions of the eighties classic go, (which are probably few and far between), this ones pretty damn good by our standard.

Now for a Sunday morning toke on the roost we have some ‘Kool A.D.’ with the video of his song ‘La Piñata’. One part of the mighty smooth ‘Das Racist’ outfit this solo effort features Victor Vasquez hanging out and partying up. Check it out here and see what you reckon:

Chasing chickens is a fine way to spend your time, especially if there’s women and money involved. Anyway, it’s a fun video with some good humour and there’s no harm in that.
